Uhmm, somebody needs to update. He he.
Also, why the eff can't we have white tea? Or can we?!
Hi, I was just reading through this and the candida diet I'm on strongly suggest that you should drink/eat soy in any form except in soy sauce... I do know that there are hundreds of debates on what foods you can and can't eat, but I would suggest that eveyone find multiple sources and just kind of follow a majority rules mindset.
Just a suggestion from a friend who is DYING for a cupcake!!!
may i ask why no eggs?
thank you,
vassargirl
This list has a substantial amount of errors. Yogurt, for one. I've never seen tomato, eggplant and bell pepper in the banned list. No pork and eggs?
thecandidadiet.com has two links that lists the 'to eat' and 'to avoid' foods.
Yogurt- only live probiotics and plain yogurt are okay to eat. For that I would just suggest taking those new 'pearls'... acidophiles and live cultures in a pill.
Tomato- very high in sugar and therefor perfect for candida, bad for your diet. Some list do say they are okay but I would limit them due to their sugar content.
Soy- most soy products on the market today are GMO or genetically modified or not organic which contains preservatives and therefor bad for the diet.
Eggplant etc- Starchy vegetables such as squash, beans, and legumes should be avoided because starch turns to sugar which feeds the candida. However, some lists say eggplant is okay to eat. If you like it eat it if not then don't.
Tea- Herbal teas and teas LOW in caffeine are okay but in moderation. White tea may have a higher caffeine content and therefor not suggested.
I agree that you should look around and research which foods you can and cannot have. Of course, it is always best to ask your doctor or perhaps check with your local health food store if they have any books or classes on how to eat for candida cleansing.
Why not eggs??
Eggs, eggplants, and tomatoes are in the list of high risk allergy foods. If you consume any food that you are allergic too you will be putting extra stress on your immune system.
Most eggs, even organic ones, could contain soy (chicken are fed soy) so that could be the reason. Overall eggs are okay, I would recommend Soy Free eggs from Whole foods market.
Bell peppers should be okay, specially the red one which is very rich in Vitamin C and will help your immune system.
Dont forget to take natural anti-fungal remedies such as oregano oil, GSE, olive extract, garlic and etc
This list definitely has some errors. Tomatoes, eggs, chicken, beef, plain yogurt, walnuts, tofu and bell peppers are all fine.
The anti-candida diet is already restrictive enough. It's really a disservice to post lists like these telling people not to eat foods that they actually can.
Eggs are fine but eat organic only...don't need more antibiotics killing your friendly bacteria. Also, bell peppers are fine and contain tons of vitamin C, which your body needs to fight infected system.
This blog is wrong on many things. This is not a good source. Many of the items will cause your Candida to grow.
This just made my day. One day we'll have that cupcake ;) one day ...
I'm going to assume regular purified water is okay.
Bacon (of any kind), hot dogs (of any kind), and deli slices (ditto)??? Really? Of over thirty years of studying and managing Candida, I have never seen these items get the green light. Pork from a clean source and organic eggs have never been banned. This list has some good points, but should really be taken down, modified (under the guidelines of a Candida specialist of some merit), and reposted.
I was so frustrated after reading this list, as many of the items contradict everything else I've been reading about the candida free diet. I agree this list needs to be modified. You should not be giving people false information, and by doing so possibly making their candida worse.
